Our Program Objective
The objective of the Seattle Homeaide Training Program is to prepare individuals with the knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes necessary to provide safe, compassionate, competent, and person-centered care to individuals who require assistance with activities of daily living. Through comprehensive classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, CPR/First Aid, Nurse Delegation education, and continuing education opportunities, participants will develop the confidence and competence needed to support clients’ health, safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Upon completion of the program, caregivers will demonstrate an understanding of effective communication, infection prevention and control, emergency procedures, client rights, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, personal care, nutrition, mobility and safety, medication-related responsibilities within their scope of practice, and appropriate responses to changes in a client’s condition.
The program is committed to developing caregivers who provide respectful, reliable, ethical, and high-quality care while meeting applicable Washington State training and professional requirements.
